Canada: We're Coming!

For ONE NIGHT ONLY on May 3rd, Indie Game: The Movie is headed to theaters ACROSS CANADA.

That’s right, the film will be screening in not one, not two, but thirty five different theaters, all at once, Thursday, May 3rd in select Cineplex Entertainment theaters.  Not only that, but right after the show, Lisanne and James will be beamed in via some very impressive satellite technology to do a live Q & A.  So come for the movie and stay for some Q&A fun.

This is all part of, and made possible by, ‘HotDocs Live’ - a brand new initiative by Toronto’s Hot Doc’s festival.  Basically, their mandate is to take some of the great films that play in their festival and get them into actual theaters.  We’re honoured to be a selection of this new program (along with the excellent film China Heavyweights).  And if you like that idea - showing smaller, unique documentary films to a super wide audience, if only for one fantastic night - then come out and support the film and the idea in general.  Because, if it’s a success, there will likely be more events like this.

So there you have it Canada - IGTM is coming home, in a big way!

HALIFAX has been added!

Due to wonderefully noisy demand from folks in Halifax, we were able to get Halifax added to the list.  Indie Game: The Movie will be showing on May 3rd at...

The tricky thing was that Cineplex Odeon isn't the primary theater chain in Atlantic Canada - it's Empire theaters.  So, we weren't scheduled to show in that region right off the bat.  But, it all worked out - mostly thanks to people in that region letting us and them know that they want the movie.  Thank you so much for that!

Is it sold out in Oshawa? It just shows 2 showings in Toronto. I would assume those would sell first though...

Hey Guys, turns out that Cineplex launched the event with some technical hiccups. No showing has been sold out yet. They're working on fixing the problem and I'm sure it'll be corrected soon.

@Stewart That price point is the domain on Cineplex Odeon. We would like it to be lower, but unfortunately it's a bit (i.e. completely) out of our hands :(

Pitching this as ACROSS CANADA when you're not showing east of Quebec is disappointing.

We're hoping to get some shows in Atlantic Canada. It's mainly a result of Cineplex not having theatres there :/ We're working on it though. Hope to have a few as either part of this event or something separate. We'll see if we can work it out
