    IGTM Wins At Sundance!

Sooo, last night was kinda the best night ever...

Indie Game: The Movie won Best Editing within the Sundance World Cinema Documentary Competition.  We can not tell you how much this means to us and how completely and utterly our minds are blown.  We shot over 300 hours of footage in making this film, and the edit was, by far, the most difficult aspect of the process. We couldn’t be more proud to receive this award.

When we started this project, we had no idea it would evolve and progress to the point of taking us up on stage at the Sundance Film Festival....it’s crazy....it really is.

The two people pictured above were clearly having an out-of-body experience behind that podium.  It was a blur, a fantastic blur.  But lost in crazed haze were a few people we forgot to thank.

We would not be anywhere close to this point in our lives if it wasn’t for our amazing parents:  Remi, Debra, Betty and Ed. We can’t believe we forgot them...and it’s something I’m sure we’ll be hearing about for the next little while :)

And of course, thank you so much to the Sundance Film Festival.  The festival’s belief in this little film has very much changed our lives.  It’s been amazing, hugely educational and most importantly, endlessly inspiring. Specifically, we need to thank David Courier for his support and Shane Smith for his invaluable early encouragement.

Thank you again to everyone who supported the film - be it by preorder, tweet, blog, word of mouth and/or good vibes.  You made this honor possible.

    Talk to you soon,

    James & Lisanne.

    Amazing People Saying Nice Things...

Whoa!  Today was a very rewarding day on the Twitters.  At our last showing, none other than Lee Unkrich (Dir, Toy Story 2 & 3, Monsters Inc, & more) and Brad Bird (The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, MI:4) were in attendance.   We know, amazing right?!?!?

Here's what they had to say...

We so wish we knew they were in the audience that day.  Would've have been great to say hi and thank them for coming.

In other surreal, idol-mention news:  Kevin Smith gave us a nice shout out on his blog here  (kinda in reference to this post)

After working on this film in a relative vaccum for the past 2 years, we can not tell you how fantastic these mentions make us feel.  ALL of the feedback (celebrity and non-celebrity) is making everything seem pretty darn worth while.

Thanks to Brad, Lee, Kevin and EVERYONE who has checked out the movie so far.  We really appreciate it!

"Big-Hearted Celebration of the Artistic Spirit!"

Check out this fantastic review from IndieWire!

The film delivers, taking us on a journey with regular people pushed to do something different, but equally extraordinary. There is a vibrant, beating heart that powers "Indie Game: The Movie" and will hopefully serve to inspire the many of us who confine ourselves to small places and lock humanity out while struggling and striving to create something beautiful. Possibly the most mature look at video games yet,
