That's a really good news.
Just one question :
Why the HD version on iTunes is only 720p ? No 1080p available ?
Thanks
Hi Bruno.
I'm not exactly sure why that is. I think it's a 1080 stream, but a 720 download...I think.
We're going to ask them about it. Obviously, we'd like the file to be 1080 in all cases. But I'm sure there's a reason for it. I'll have to check and see if other films are at 1080 for a download or if it's an across-the-board 720P decision.
But, if you want 1080P, two guaranteed ways to get it:
1) DRM free on this site:
http://buy.indiegamethemovie.com/
or
2) Steam based version is 1080P as well:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/207080
Thanks for asking!
-James
Ok thanks.
iTunes would be easier for me because of all the Apple products I've got.
Let me know when you'll have answers.
Thanks a lot
Actually, I just found out that it's available on iTunes in both 1080 and 720p. Just make sure you have 1080p selected in your iTunes/preferences/store settings.
I had mine defaulted to 720p and as a result IGTM was listed as 720 within iTunes itself. This was the first time I noticed the setting - i think I may have been downloading 720p this whole time, while it could've been 1080 :/
So, yep, it should be 1080 across the board
Will the digital download (VHX version specifically) also include the commentary audio tracks by you guys and Team Meat?
Hi Professor. Yes, it will.
I think the director commentary may come a couple of days after launch though (still have to record it :)
Thanks for asking
-James
How did Jon Blow and Team Meat react to the film?
Congratulations on producing an utterly beautiful documentary.
I downloaded the DRM-free version and watched it last night. I have been waiting for this for over a year and it only exceeded my expectations :)
I understand the editorial decision to focus on the story of just three games but I'm sure I can't be the only one who'd love to see some of the material that didn't make the cut featuring other game developers. Are there plans to make any of this available for download?
Thank you for making this.
To clarify my last question: will the IGTM Special Edition be available for download for those of us who rarely use physical media?
Hello,
I was surprised to see IGTM on steam, though I had heard of it before, and had planned on buying it. My questions are: I would like to get the special edition of IGTM with all the extra footage, will it be available through Steam as well? What if I buy a copy through Steam for $9.99, will I be able to upgrade to the special edition?
Hi, got the movie off Steam. Saw it poping up in the store and did not think of checking alternatives (iTunes and this web site).
While the movie downloads, I get concerned about DRM and how/if I will be able to watch it on my iPad & stuff.
Eventually I can find the movie as a mp4 file in Steam subfolders, and yes, it plays on my iPad. Unfortunately I don't know where the subtitles are embedded, they seem to only show up if I watch the movie through the Steam app. Not listed on my iPad, no srt files to be found anywhere.
So I am ending up regretting not buying directly here / VHX.
Any way to get my subtitles on a nomad platform with Steam?
Hi,
I was just wondering when IGTM will be available on iTunes in Europe (The Netherlands specifically)?
